CUT PAPER: Kismet

Kismet, 2014, highlights the intersection of cut vellum and light. I adapted its pattern from the Apollonian Gasket, a fractal that reminds me of shapes in nature. Consisting of two sheets, each cutwork in this series uses the same pattern, albeit of different scale, placement and level of detail. Lighting determines how the parts converge.
