The Carousel, 2016
It Isn’t How I Remember It is about disorientation and loss. I was traveling the day my Dad died, and I happened to photograph the Picci carousel in the Piazza della Repubblica—a place steeped in history. I’ve manipulated the original image by applying polar coordinates, a system used by the ancients, and one with which my dad was familiar.
